I am committed to safeguarding the privacy of my website visitors; this policy sets out how I will treat your personal information.
When you visit my website, I collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. This includes your IP address, geographical location, browser type and version, operating system, referral source, length of visit, page views and website navigation. I do not associate these data with any personally identifying data from any source.
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owner(s) of the site.
Your personal information
I collect information relating to any transactions carried out between you and me on or in relation to my website, including information relating to any purchases you make of my services.
If you choose to register as a client of Joyous Journeys, I will hold information that you register with for the purpose of personal notes about your sessions, as well as for the purpose of subscribing to my website services, email notifications and/or newsletters if you choose to receive them. This information includes your name, address, telephone and mobile phone number, date of birth, email address and any other information you choose to share with me.
I may use your personal information to:
(a) administer the website
(b) improve your browsing experience by personalising the website
(c) enable your use of the services available on the website
(d) send to you goods purchased via the website, and supply to you services purchased via the website
(e) send statements and invoices to you, and collect payments from you
(f) send you general (non-marketing) commercial communications
(g) send you email notifications which you have specifically requested
(h) send to you my newsletter and other marketing communications relating to my business which I think may be of interest to you by email or similar technology (you can inform me at any time if you no longer require marketing communications by unsubscribing from my newsletter/email list)
(i) provide third parties with statistical information about my users – but this information will not be used to identify any individual user – and
(j) deal with enquiries and complaints made by or about you relating to my website.
Where you submit personal information for publication on my website, I will publish and otherwise use that information in accordance with the license you grant to me.
I will not without your express consent provide your personal information to any third parties for the purpose of direct marketing or any other purpose.
If you choose to book your appointments (for therapy sessions, circles and retreats) using the booking system on my website, Acuity Scheduling, your information may be used in the same way as stated above, complying with the GDPR legislation from 25 May 2018.
In addition, I may disclose your personal information:
(a) to the extent that I am required to do so by law
(b) in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings
(c) in order to establish, exercise or defend my legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk), and
(d) to any person who I reasonably believe may apply to a court or other competent authority for disclosure of that personal information where, in my reasonable opinion, such court or authority would be reasonably likely to order disclosure of that personal information.
Security of your personal information
I will take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information.
Of course, data transmission over the internet is inherently insecure, and I cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the internet.
You are responsible for keeping your password and user details confidential. I will not ask personally for your password – but it will of course be requested when you log in to my website (in May 2018, this function isn’t part of my website, but it may be in the future).
You may instruct me to provide you with any personal information I hold about you. Provision of such information will be subject to the supply of appropriate evidence of your identity (for this purpose, I will usually accept a photocopy of your passport certified by a solicitor or bank plus an original copy of a utility bill showing your current address).
I may withhold such personal information to the extent permitted by law.
You may instruct me not to process your personal information for marketing purposes by email at any time. In practice, you will usually either expressly agree in advance to my use of your personal information for marketing purposes, or I will provide you with an opportunity to opt out of the use of your personal information for marketing purposes.
My website contains links to other websites. I am not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of third-party websites.
Please let me know if the personal information that I hold about you needs to be corrected or updated.
